Where learned to row
On the Cam... The best place to learn!
Proudest rowing moments
Finishing the Great Ouse Marathon and getting a row-over in Bumps after two years running of spoons!
Rowing motto
One more Reach?
I became the Women’s Representative for X-Press since 2023, and have also captained our W1 and W2 crews. I learned to row on the Cam at school many years ago, and returned to the sport in 2021 after a long break!
My aim as Women’s Rep is to create an inclusive and supportive atmosphere in the squad, and be the voice for women’s rowing at X-Press. Outside of my committee role, I also volunteer with British Rowing as Event Sustainability Manager for the National Masters Championships, and I am on the CRA Bumps Committee.
Where learned to row
At school on the Isis.
Proudest rowing moments
Winning National Masters C Championships with the ‘Covid bubble’ Quadrum 4x. Still learning in my 4th decade of the sport.
Rowing motto
Rarely give up!
I am passionate about access to the sport for all, aiming to make X-Press as inclusive as possible, while bringing in all I know about the sport to build a performance culture in the club.
Though I have competed in Junior, Open, and Masters categories, I am an adaptive rower, para classified as PR3-PD, having been born with a clubfoot. I am happy to advise any prospective adaptive rowers on the processes involved in getting classified by British Rowing and am working on encouraging adaptive rowing in Cambridge.
Where learned to row
The beautiful river Tiber, in Rome. My first club was Circolo Canottieri Roma.
Proudest rowing moments
As a Junior rower I wore the Azzurri onesie (this is how we call anything about Italian sport's teams) a few times making my parents and my coach very proud.
Rowing motto
#toughenough
As the Treasurer of the club it is my role to make sure the club is able to pay its bills but most importantly to invest into new boats and other equipment.
In the last couple of years we have been working hard in sourcing exactly the right boats for our members to enjoy. We now have two brand new 8+ boats, a new 4+ boat, and new oars. This will keep X-Press in the game in terms of our offering to the current and future members.
